"we CARE what you eat"

As our Heartbeat award in food and hygiene indicates, we really do CARE about the dietary requirements of the children at Caring Kindergartens. The menus rotate every week and are planned to provide a healthy, nutritious and balanced meal prepared fresh on the premises each day.  Breakfast snacks and lunches are all put together by our head chef and are introduced across all of our Caring Kindergartens nurseries. Each nursery has its own in-house cook who prepares meals fresh every day, and who also ensures that any child with special dietary requirements have specially prepared food.

Meal times are also a time to educate children on the table manners and etiquette; we believe it’s important for a child’s discipline and preparation for integrating confidently into their home life and schooling.

In Summer 2010 we were one of two settings asked by Northamptonshire County Council to participate in a detailed study and analysis of the content and nutritional value of our menus. This was the continuation of the 'Nippers Nutrition' study initially carried out in Sussex, then rolled out nationally.

We were delighted with the outcome of the analysis, which confirmed that we were offering a balanced and nutritious range of food to children of all ages at our nurseries; and we quickly took on board a few pointers and suggestions from the report to further improve the quality and standard of our food.
