"Oliver started Caring Kindergartens, Daventry in the autumn of 2009 when he was 2.5 years old. After he had attended nursery for a few weeks he was invited to a peer’s birthday and at the party we noticed that he seemed to be quite different in his development and understanding compared to the other children that attended the nursery. A week or so later the nursery contacted us to have a meeting with them, at the meeting they discussed their concerns regarding his development, the possibility of something not being quite right and advised us to get in touch with Oliver’s health visitor.  We had a mixture of feelings but we were relieved that someone else shared our concerns.  Oliver went on to be diagnosed as being Autistic, which is a learning developmental disability.  Caring Kindergartens were very supportive and sensitive when we received the diagnosis.  They have been an extension of Oliver’s care and support system and their understanding and implementation of Special Education Needs has been second to none.  They have also helped us to access information and played an instrumental part in liaising with the local educational authority to gain a statement of special needs for when Oliver starts school in September 2011.
